1 Peter 4:10–11 (ESV)  10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1.                   ARE WE READY TO SERVE?

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)  10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

1.                 HAVE YOU BEEN GIFTED?

1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 

1.                 HAVE YOU BEEN EQUIPPED?

Ephesians 4:11–12 (ESV)  11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

1.                 DO YOU HAVE OPPORTUNITIES?

Galatians 6:10 (ESV)  10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

1.                 WHOM SHALL WE SERVE?

Joshua 24:15 (ESV) “…Choose this day whom you will serve, …But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

1.                 SERVE THE LORD

Colossians 3:17 (ESV)  17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1.                 SERVE THE CHURCH

1.                 SERVE THE LOST

Matthew 5:13 (ESV)  13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

III.                HOW SHALL WE SERVE?

1 Chronicles 28:9 (ESV)  9 “And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

1.                 MEET PHYSICAL NEEDS

Matthew 25:35 (ESV)  35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

1.                 MEET EMOTIONAL NEEDS

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (ESV)  3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

1.                 MEET INTELLECTUAL NEEDS

1 Peter 3:15 (ESV)  15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

2 Corinthians 5:18 (ESV)  18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
